Making progress....

We are slowly making progress on the baby's room. Last weekend we (along with help from some good friends) got our son's crib put together. It's really pretty. This weekend, we will hopefully get the matress for it (along with purchasing a chest of drawers so he has somewhere to put his clothes--right now they are in piles in his room).

In other baby related news, I submitted my maternity leave paperwork. Hard to believe it's less than 2 months away!

9 weeks to go!

Today was my 31 week apt. Doctor says everything is still going well. I asked the doctor today how much weight I've gained. My advice to anyone expecting: don't do this. It will just make you feel bad about yourself. Lately several people have told me I don't look like 31 weeks or that they can barely tell or that I needed to eat more, so I was concerned that maybe something was wrong. Nope...nothing's wrong. I have 9 weeks to go!

Other signs that we are getting close to the premier of our little man:

1. We borrowed a bassinet from our friends. They brought it over this weeked. It's now in our bedroom. I just keep looking at it like it's this foreign wierd object that doesn't belong in my room. I'm sure I'll get over that.

2. I picked up my FMLA paperwork from Heartland today. I just have to sign it and send it to HR to complete everything for my maternity leave. Now, I just have to get all my sub plans ready.

Here's Looking at You!

We had a 4D ultrasound done this past week. We went on Wednesday. Baby Moore was NOT impressed. Nor was he cooperative! I joked that he acts just like his father and Luke thought he was hard headed like his mother. I think he's probably got a little bit of both our attitudes, so we might be in trouble! :) Anyway, the lady was very good and tried EVERYTHING to get him to move around so we could see him. He just wouldn't cooperate. We got one picture.

So....we rescheduled for the next day. He was not so much in the mood that day either. He was chewing on his hand therefore, his hand was in front of his face the majority of the time.

Regardless, we think he's pretty cute with his little round head and chubby cheeks. Hopefully he'll be a little more photogenic when he arrives in April! :)

the last 6 months

I'm going to give a short run down of the last 6 months...basically the time my life changed drastically!

August--softball, school. Yep, that's about it!

September--softball, school...and THE month everything changed. And it changed for the best! This month was also filled with an incredible amount of anxiety, tears and fear. Luke was wwwwwaaaayyyyy more calm about things than I was. Thank goodness for him. Baby Moore also had his very first picture taken.

October--calmer, much calmer. Things start to sink in.

November--IT'S A BOY!!!! Excitement takes over! Oh yeah, and I started basketball. We also celebrate Thanksgiving with Luke's family in Wichita.

December--snow, lots of snow, basketball and more snow. Christmas and the acquisition of baby items begins. We are very blessed to have great grandparents for this little guy--Gramma Jane got him a crib and Gramma Ruth & Grampa Butch a glider & ottoman. He has also begun to develop quite the wardrobe (with quite a bit of purple in it already, not to worry though...NW green and NU red will soon be added!)

January--basketball and my belly continues to grow. He's becoming quite the active little guy kicking me on a regular basis. We also registered for him at Target & Babies R Us. What an overwhelming experience! What a whirlwind these last six months have been.

We have been very blessed with everything. God definitely has plans that sometimes we don't understand, but is all for the best.
